Portfolio Management Officer

About the role

The Portfolio Management Officer will lead the design and execution of Shariah‑compliant investment strategies for Boubid Africa’s clients. This senior position is responsible for delivering competitive returns while preserving capital and adhering to Islamic finance principles.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement investment strategies aligned with client goals and risk tolerance.
• Manage funds to achieve competitive returns through dynamic, Shariah‑compliant asset allocation.
• Monitor market trends, economic indicators, and financial data to inform investment decisions.
• Conduct research and due diligence on potential Islamic investment opportunities.
• Set and review portfolio performance benchmarks on a quarterly, half‑yearly, and annual basis.
• Assess and mitigate portfolio risks, adjusting strategies as market conditions evolve.
• Communicate with clients to understand objectives and provide regular performance updates.
• Ensure compliance with industry regulations and internal policies.
• Prepare comprehensive performance reports for clients and internal stakeholders.

Required profile

• Minimum 7 years post‑NYSC experience in capital markets.
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, or related field; master’s degree or CFA designation is a plus.
• Proven experience as a Shariah‑compliant portfolio manager.
• Strong analytical and quantitative abilities.
• Excellent understanding of financial markets and investment principles.
• Effective communication and sound decision‑making skills.
