Plant Installation, Commissioning & Maintenance Engineer

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Plant Installation, Commissioning & Maintenance Engineer to lead the full lifecycle of a mineral processing plant in Ebonyi State, Nigeria. This senior technical position involves taking ownership from installation through start‑up, ongoing maintenance, reliability improvement and continuous optimisation.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and supervise installation, erection, testing and commissioning of mineral processing equipment.
• Drive plant start‑up, troubleshoot issues and optimise performance.
• Establish the Plant Maintenance/Engineering Unit with systems, procedures, schedules and standards.
• Develop and implement preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance programmes.
• Diagnose and resolve mechanical/electromechanical faults and recurring equipment failures.
• Oversee maintenance of crushers, conveyors, screens, pumps, motors, gearboxes and related equipment.
• Set up spare‑parts, equipment history and maintenance‑record systems.
• Lead plant shutdowns, major repairs and equipment upgrades.
• Develop and supervise technicians and maintenance personnel while ensuring HSE and engineering compliance.

Required profile

• B.Eng./B.Sc./HND in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics or a related engineering discipline.
• 10+ years of hands‑on experience in plant installation, commissioning, start‑up and maintenance.
• Strong background in mineral processing, mining, quarrying, cement, aggregates or similar heavy‑industrial plants.
• Proven ability to build and lead a plant maintenance/engineering function from scratch.
• Excellent troubleshooting, equipment‑reliability and team‑leadership capabilities.
• Willingness to work onsite in Ebonyi State.
