Plant Engineering Manager

About the role
The Plant Engineering Manager will lead the engineering function to ensure world‑class asset reliability, maintenance excellence, operational efficiency, and compliance across manufacturing lines. You will drive maintenance strategies aligned with Group and Regional Asset Care standards, oversee engineering budgets and capital investments, and develop engineering talent to support business growth.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and maintain maintenance systems aligned with Group and Regional Asset Care strategies.
- Lead preventive, predictive and proactive maintenance of all plant assets.
- Conduct annual reviews of maintenance systems, standards, and engineering practices.
- Develop and manage the engineering budget in line with business requirements.
- Monitor engineering expenditure and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Assess engineering capability and identify future development needs.
- Provide coaching, mentoring and leadership support to direct reports.
- Build a high‑performance engineering culture through effective people management.
- Communicate engineering‑related risks and operational issues effectively.
- Support operational planning and contribute to business continuity initiatives.
- Review engineering systems, processes and routines regularly and implement corrective actions.
- Benchmark engineering practices against global best practices and drive improvements.
- Ensure compliance with financial policies, maintenance standards and engineering governance requirements.
Required profile
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics or related engineering discipline (post‑graduate qualification is a plus).
- Certified Reliability Engineer (CRE), Certified Maintenance and Reliability Professional (CMRP) and COREN certifications are advantageous.
- 7‑10 years of engineering experience in FMCG manufacturing environments.
- At least 3 years in a management role.
- Strong experience in maintenance management, asset care, utilities operations and reliability engineering.
- Knowledge of maintenance systems, preventive maintenance programs and continuous improvement methodologies.
