Part‑time IT Technician – Port Harcourt

About the role

Softmix is seeking a part‑time, on‑site Information Technology Technician to support daily IT operations in its Port Harcourt office. The role focuses on installing, configuring, and maintaining hardware, software, and network components while delivering prompt technical assistance to end‑users.

Key responsibilities

• Provide first‑line technical support to end‑users, minimizing downtime.
• Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues on desktops, laptops, printers, and peripherals.
• Repair, maintain, and configure desktop computers and related equipment.
• Assist with desktop setup, configuration, and troubleshooting.
• Document solutions, follow IT policies, and contribute to preventive maintenance.
• Escalate complex problems to senior staff when necessary.

Required profile

• Proven experience in technical support, handling both hardware and software problems.
• Hands‑on experience with desktop computers, printers, and peripheral devices.
• Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic abilities.
• Excellent communication and customer‑service skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in an on‑site team environment.
• Relevant certifications such as CompTIA A+ or Network+ are a strong advantage.
