Operations Assistant – Field Support (Temporary)

About the role

The Operations Assistant (Field Support) provides direct assistance to migrants at transit centres and airports, supports profiling activities on the Mimosa system, and coordinates transport logistics in the Kano area. This temporary position is essential for ensuring safe and orderly movement of vulnerable populations.

Key responsibilities

• Assist migrants at transit centres, including sign‑in, identity verification, orientation, and allocation of food, non‑food items, and accommodation.
• Provide arrival assistance at airports: verify documentation, support check‑in, luggage handling, immigration procedures, and escort individuals to ground transport.
• Profile migrants using the Mimosa system and maintain accurate records.
• Coordinate transport activities, including arranging ground transportation and confirming flight departures.
• Support individuals with special needs or equipment, ensuring appropriate assistance throughout their journey.
• Send notifications through relevant operational systems as required.

Required profile

• Ability to work in a fast‑paced field environment and interact respectfully with diverse migrant populations.
• Strong attention to detail for identity verification and documentation handling.
• Willingness to travel within the assigned area and work flexible hours, including weekends if needed.

Required skills

• Proficiency with the Mimosa profiling system.
