About the role
The consultant will provide strategic and technical support to strengthen communication, advocacy, youth engagement and knowledge management for UNICEF Nigeria’s nutrition programme.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and implement communication and social mobilisation strategies for nutrition interventions.
- Lead advocacy, media engagement and stakeholder outreach to raise visibility and donor recognition.
- Facilitate youth participation and partnership with civil society, government and UN agencies.
- Manage knowledge products, documentation and learning dissemination across programme teams.
- Collaborate closely with the Nutrition Manager, Child Nutrition and Development, SBC, CAP, ADAP and field offices.
Required profile
- Advanced degree (Master’s) in Communication, Journalism, Social and Behaviour Change, Public Health, Social Sciences or related field.
- Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in advocacy, communication, social mobilisation, youth engagement, media relations or knowledge management.
- Proven experience supporting large‑scale public health, nutrition or maternal and child health programmes in low‑ and middle‑income countries.
- Demonstrated collaboration with UNICEF, UN agencies, government, development partners, civil society and media networks.
