Nutrition Officer – Technical Support for Nutrition Interventions

About the role

Jhpiego is seeking a Nutrition Officer to lead the daily implementation of nutrition‑sensitive and nutrition‑specific life‑saving interventions in the Federal Capital Territory of Nigeria. The role supports a multi‑sectoral project that aims to improve nutrition outcomes for women of reproductive age, young children, and newborns through technical assistance, capacity building, and evidence generation.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and track a detailed nutrition implementation plan in collaboration with the Monitoring & Evaluation team.
• Oversee day‑to‑day activities at community nutrition screening sites, including MUAC outreach, IMAM, OTP, and Homestead Food Production.
• Promote adoption of Maternal, Infant and Young Child Nutrition (MIYCN) practices and multiple micronutrient supplementation for pregnant women.
• Provide on‑the‑job training, mentoring, and supportive supervision to field nutrition staff and Nutrition Focal Persons.
• Coordinate with health workers, food‑system actors, and other stakeholders to strengthen the enabling environment for nutrition policies.

Required profile

• Minimum of 1 month of relevant experience in nutrition programming or public health.
• Strong understanding of nutrition‑specific and nutrition‑sensitive interventions.
• Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and community partners.
• Excellent organizational and monitoring skills.
