About the role
The National Program Manager leads, integrates, and assures the quality, effectiveness, and accountability of Ipas Nigeria’s program portfolio, ensuring strong alignment with country, node, and global Ipas strategies. As a member of the Country Senior Leadership Team, the role drives program excellence, donor confidence, and strategic growth while enabling program teams to deliver results with autonomy, innovation, and integrity.
Key responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and annually review a comprehensive program roadmap aligned with country and global strategy.
- Ensure full alignment of all program activities with Ipas strategic priorities.
- Foster a high‑performing, collaborative, values‑driven team culture with strong staff engagement.
- Promote program visibility through internal and external knowledge‑sharing events.
- Oversee delivery of all programs to meet scope, timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
- Strengthen project execution processes to minimize delays and missed milestones.
- Lead quarterly program performance reviews and ensure proper documentation of outcomes.
- Maintain accurate, up‑to‑date documentation and reporting systems for all projects.
- Guarantee full compliance with donor and organizational requirements.
- Plan, monitor, and control finances to keep projects within approved budgets and improve forecasting accuracy.
- Optimize resource allocation to maximize impact and efficiency.
- Identify, document, and actively manage program risks with clear mitigation strategies.
- Contribute to fundraising, proposal development, and donor engagement initiatives.
- Provide strong programmatic input to ensure competitive, compliant proposals.
- Identify and support new funding opportunities and program scale‑up initiatives.
- Lead stakeholder mapping, maintain engagement strategies, and build relationships with government, partners, and advocacy networks.
Required profile
- Proven experience leading large program portfolios in the development or health sector.
- Demonstrated ability to operate at senior leadership level and influence cross‑functional teams.
- Strong track record of financial oversight and donor compliance.
- Experience in stakeholder engagement with government officials, partners, and advocacy networks.
- Ability to identify and develop new funding opportunities and drive program growth.
