National Medical Doctor – Clinical Care Provider

About the role

The National Medical Doctor provides comprehensive patient care across acute and chronic conditions, ensuring safety, accurate diagnosis, and appropriate treatment. This role involves direct clinical work, supervision of staff, and participation in training and quality improvement activities.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver high‑quality clinical care based on history, physical examination, laboratory and imaging results, and formulary guidelines.
• Conduct daily patient rounds, document progress, adjust management plans, and ensure proper handover.
• Identify the need for further testing or specialist referral and initiate the process.
• Lead case discussions, provide hands‑on and didactic training to staff, and address training gaps.
• Collect, analyze, and report medical service data to improve care quality.
• Implement infection prevention and control measures in line with MoH and international standards.
• Supervise clinical staff, participate in hiring, and maintain essential drug and supply inventories.
• Provide health education to patients and communities on disease prevention and healthy lifestyles.
• Participate in 24‑hour service rotations as scheduled and adhere to confidentiality and code‑of‑conduct policies.

Required profile

• Medical degree (primary care physician) with a valid license to practice.
• Board certification or eligibility (or equivalent qualification).
• Ability to perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.

Required skills

• Clinical assessment and diagnosis.

• Prescription of medications according to formulary.
