Music Teacher / Director

About the role

We are looking for an enthusiastic Music Teacher to join our vibrant school community in Benin City. You will inspire students of all ages, nurture their musical talents, and foster a lifelong appreciation for music.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and deliver engaging music curricula for various age groups and skill levels.
• Teach music theory, history, and appreciation.
• Provide individual and group instruction on a range of instruments and vocal techniques.
• Organise and conduct school choirs, bands, and orchestras for performances and competitions.
• Plan and coordinate recitals, concerts, and other music events throughout the academic year.
• Assess student progress and give constructive feedback.
• Maintain a safe, well‑organized learning environment.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Music Education or a related field.
• Proven experience teaching music in a school or private setting.
• Professional proficiency on multiple instruments (e.g., violin, piano, trumpet, saxophone) and strong vocal abilities.
• In‑depth knowledge of music theory, history, and diverse genres.
• Experience conducting choirs, bands, or orchestras.
