Multi‑Skilled Technical Operator – Lagos

About the role

The Multi‑Skilled Technical Operator supports BBC journalism across TV, radio, digital and social platforms. Working in a digital studio environment, the role combines video production, live streaming, broadcast operations and technical support to deliver high‑quality content.

Key responsibilities

• Manage day‑to‑day operations of a digital video production studio, ensuring layout, maintenance and safety.
• Support editorial teams in creating content for social media and streaming platforms.
• Operate software‑based vision‑mixing tools and apply keying techniques.
• Mix live and recorded audio, set up microphones and manage sound equipment.
• Rig, test and operate studio lighting, PTZ cameras, monitors and prompting devices.
• Coordinate technical issues with local and remote teams for timely resolution.
• Provide basic IT support and act as “smart hands” for remote engineering tasks.

Required profile

• Excellent written and spoken English with strong interpersonal skills.
• Proven experience supporting live television, radio or digital production in a broadcast or multimedia environment.
• Experience operating live production and streaming platforms such as vMix or equivalent.
• Skilled in sound mixing, microphone setup and related audio workflows.
