Mid-Level Biomedical Engineer

About the role

This full-time, on-site Mid-Level Biomedical Engineer role is based in Lagos. The position involves maintaining, calibrating, and repairing medical equipment to ensure safe and reliable operation. The biomedical engineer will support clinical teams by installing devices, performing routine inspections, and managing preventive maintenance schedules.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain, calibrate, and repair a variety of medical equipment.
• Install new devices and perform routine inspections.
• Develop and follow preventive maintenance plans.
• Document service activities and generate reports.
• Troubleshoot equipment issues and resolve technical problems.
• Coordinate with vendors for parts, service contracts, and technical support.
• Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and safety standards.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to optimize equipment performance and support continuous improvement in healthcare delivery.

Required profile

• Strong foundation in Biomedical Engineering and Clinical Engineering with practical experience in healthcare settings.
• Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering, Clinical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Knowledge of healthcare regulations, equipment safety standards, and quality‑assurance practices.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills for collaboration with clinical and technical staff.
• Organizational and time‑management abilities to handle multiple service requests and priorities.
• Prior experience in a hospital, clinic, or medical‑device environment is an advantage.
