Metadata & Data Lineage Specialist

About the role

Moniepoint is seeking a Metadata & Data Lineage Specialist to design, implement and operate enterprise‑wide metadata management and data lineage capabilities. You will make the data catalogue useful for teams, ensuring data is discoverable, trustworthy and traceable across all systems.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and enhance enterprise metadata, business glossaries, data definitions and ownership frameworks within DataHub.
• Develop, validate and maintain end‑to‑end data lineage for critical data flows, products, reports and customer journeys.
• Administer and optimise the DataHub platform, configure ingestion workflows and monitor metadata jobs.
• Establish metadata quality rules, KPIs and perform regular assessments to support governance and impact analysis.
• Apply data classification metadata for sensitivity and regulatory compliance, supporting Risk, Compliance and InfoSec.
• Drive AI‑assisted metadata management, semantic modelling and knowledge‑graph development.
• Facilitate workshops and provide guidance to data producers and consumers to boost data literacy and platform adoption.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Management or related field.
• 3–6+ years experience in metadata management, data governance, data architecture or data engineering.
• Hands‑on experience with enterprise data‑catalog platforms such as Solidatus, Informatica or DataHub.
• Proven ability to develop end‑to‑end data lineage in complex environments.
• Familiarity with modern data architectures (Medallion, Data Mesh, Data Vault 2.0, data warehouses, data lakes, cloud platforms).
• Experience in highly regulated sectors such as fintech, payments or banking is highly desirable.
