Medical Officer – Post NYSC

About the role

We are seeking a competent and patient‑focused Post‑NYSC Medical Officer to join the Consulting Doctors team. The successful candidate will provide quality clinical care, participate in consultations and minor surgical procedures, support emergency care, and work closely with the Medical Director and other healthcare professionals to ensure safe and effective patient management.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient consultations, clinical assessments and physical examinations.
• Diagnose, manage and treat common medical conditions, prescribing medications according to clinical guidelines.
• Participate in minor surgical procedures and basic interventions under supervision, including wound suturing, incision and drainage, and catheterisation.
• Assist with emergency and urgent cases, performing basic resuscitation and life‑support measures.
• Request, interpret and act on laboratory and diagnostic investigations, and refer to specialists when needed.
• Maintain accurate, confidential medical records and ensure proper documentation of all patient interactions.
• Educate patients and relatives on diagnoses, treatment plans, preventive health and lifestyle modifications.
• Collaborate with nurses, pharmacists, laboratory scientists and consultants in multidisciplinary teams.

Required profile

• MBBS degree from a recognised institution.
• Post‑NYSC clinical experience in a hospital or comparable healthcare setting.
• Valid registration and practising licence with the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN) and evidence of NYSC completion.
• Basic practical knowledge of minor surgical procedures and emergency management.
• Willingness to reside within the hospital premises in Onikolobo, Abeokuta.

What we offer

• Monthly salary of ₦450,000 inclusive of incentives
