About the role
The Medical Laboratory Scientist will work in a busy clinical setting, providing accurate diagnostic testing to support patient care. This role involves handling specimens, performing a range of laboratory analyses, and ensuring results are reported promptly and reliably.
Key responsibilities
- Collect, receive, label, process and analyze patient specimens according to established procedures.
- Perform routine and specialized tests in hematology, chemistry, microbiology and serology.
- Document, interpret and report laboratory results in a timely manner.
- Maintain, calibrate and operate laboratory equipment while conducting quality control checks.
- Handle specimens, chemicals and bio‑hazardous materials safely and dispose of them according to regulations.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Science or a related field.
- Valid professional registration/licence to practice.
- Relevant experience in a hospital, diagnostic centre or clinical laboratory.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary team.
