About the role
Jr health care is seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant to join its team in Marina, Lagos. You will support physicians and patients by handling clinical and administrative tasks in a fast‑paced healthcare environment.
Key responsibilities
- Update Electronic Health Records (EHR), file medical documents and assist with basic medical coding and billing.
- Measure and record vital signs, document medical history and current symptoms.
- Escort patients to exam rooms, prepare equipment and assist physicians during examinations and minor procedures.
- Perform point‑of‑care testing such as urine analysis and rapid strep tests, collect specimen samples, operate EKG machines and draw blood (phlebotomy).
- Administer routine oral medications, vaccinations or injections under supervision.
- Explain physician instructions, dietary changes or medication schedules and provide post‑visit care guidelines.
Required profile
- Minimum qualification of SSCE.
- At least 2 years of experience in public health or health science.
Required skills
- Electronic Health Records (EHR) handling
- Medical coding and billing
- Point‑of‑care testing (urine analysis, rapid strep test)
- EKG operation
- Phlebotomy
