Mechanical Engineer – Plant Maintenance (Abuja)

About the role

We are looking for a Mechanical Engineer to support plant operations in Abuja. The role focuses on machine repairs, maintenance, data analysis and performance optimisation across the production line.

Key responsibilities

• Support the entire plant in machine repairs during shifts and minimise losses from breakdowns.
• Extract and analyse mechanical data for the production process.
• Provide corrective maintenance, troubleshooting and knowledge transfer.
• Manage repair activities and modification processes.
• Evaluate the performance of shift and maintenance technicians in solving machine issues.
• Assess and train technicians and operators in basic machine repairs.
• Maintain inventory requirements for mechanical components.
• Collaborate with external resources for machine repairs.
• Prepare, execute and evaluate machine breakdown history to reduce repair time.
• Carry out machine performance breakdown analysis.
• Develop mechanical contingency plans for obsolescence management.
• Support the production team in translating technical requirements from new product or recipe developments into machine modifications.

Required profile

• B.Eng., BSc or HND in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics or Control Engineering.
• Minimum 8 years of hands‑on experience with Krones or injection‑molding machines in a manufacturing environment.
