Mechanic I – Vehicle Maintenance & Diagnostics

About the role

The International Institute of Tropical Agriculture is seeking a Mechanic I to join its headquarters in Ibadan. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and repairing the institute’s vehicle fleet, ensuring reliable operation and safety.

Key responsibilities

• Perform electrical diagnostics and troubleshooting on vehicles.
• Carry out auto‑electrical and mechanical maintenance and repairs.
• Recover vehicles as required at designated locations.
• Clean workshop floors and equipment to maintain a safe working environment.
• Undertake any additional duties assigned by the supervisor.

Required profile

• O’ Level qualification with at least three years of relevant experience, or Trade Test III with a minimum of five years’ experience in a similar role.
• Recognized automotive technical certification is an advantage.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and a willingness to learn.
