Manager, Fraud Risk

About the role

Flutterwave is looking for an experienced senior professional to lead its fraud risk function. The Manager, Fraud Risk will be responsible for protecting the company’s merchant acquiring and remittance business from financial losses and ensuring compliance with payment partners.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute comprehensive risk management strategies to identify, assess, and mitigate fraud‑related risks.
• Implement data‑driven risk assessment models and analytical tools to detect emerging threats.
• Establish and continuously improve policies and procedures governing fraud risk management.
• Collaborate with product, legal, compliance, and technology teams to design effective mitigation solutions.
• Conduct regular reviews and audits of accounts, transactions, and activities for adherence to risk protocols.
• Provide timely reporting on risk metrics, trends, and incidents to senior leadership.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and support business growth.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, risk management or a related field; advanced degree or certifications (FRM, CRM, CFA) preferred.
• 5+ years of risk management experience, preferably in fintech or financial services, with a focus on fraud prevention.
• Proven leadership and team‑management experience.
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
