Life Sciences Research Expert (Remote Contractor)

About the role

A fully remote, independent contractor position for a Life Sciences Research Expert, working approximately 15 hours per week on flexible, project-based work. The role centres on solving scientific problems, building reproducible Python-based analyses and reviewing scientific outputs.

Key responsibilities

• Create and solve challenging scientific problems within your area of expertise.
• Develop reproducible Python-based analyses, models, simulations and data-processing workflows.
• Analyse scientific datasets and validate computational findings.
• Review scientific solutions and code for accuracy, clarity and completeness, and identify errors in reasoning, calculations and implementations.
• Provide technical feedback to improve AI-generated scientific responses.
• Document research methods, analytical approaches and solutions clearly.
• Complete assigned tasks according to project specifications and quality standards.

Required profile

• PhD, MD or master's degree with substantial research experience in a relevant life sciences discipline.
• Demonstrated research experience through publications, thesis work, computational projects, industry research or equivalent achievements.
• Expertise in at least one relevant life sciences discipline.

Required skills

• Practical Python experience in scientific computing, data analysis, modelling or simulation.
• Familiarity with scientific Python tools such as NumPy, pandas, SciPy, Matplotlib, scikit-learn and Jupyter Notebook.
• Scientific data analysis, interpretation, computational modelling, simulation or statistical analysis.
• Strong written communication and documentation skills.

What we offer

• Remuneration of NGN 500,000 per month.
