Legal Counsel

About the role

We are looking for a part‑time Legal Counsel to support our technology‑driven company in drafting and negotiating software agreements, protecting intellectual property, and ensuring regulatory compliance. The role will work closely with executive, product, and engineering teams to mitigate commercial risks.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review and negotiate SaaS agreements, software licensing contracts, Service Level Agreements and IT procurement contracts.
• Manage intellectual property clauses, source code ownership rights and confidentiality terms in all commercial deals.
• Oversee compliance with data privacy regulations such as GDPR and CCPA.
• Prepare corporate governance documents, maintain records and ensure statutory filing obligations are met.
• Provide legal advice to leadership and coordinate with external counsel for complex matters.

Required profile

• Juris Doctor (JD), LLB or equivalent law degree from an accredited law school.
• Active license in good standing with the state or Nigerian Bar Association.
• 3‑5 years of corporate legal experience, preferably in technology transactions.
• Strong knowledge of commercial contract law, intellectual property rights, indemnification and limitation of liability clauses.
