Lead Electrical & Instrumentation Engineer

About the role

The Lead Electrical & Instrumentation Engineer will oversee all Front-End Engineering Design (FEED) and detailed design activities for electrical and instrumentation systems on oil & gas projects in Lagos and Port Harcourt. This senior position ensures design deliverables meet client specifications, industry codes, and company standards while supporting safe and efficient project execution.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate FEED and detailed design of electrical and instrumentation packages.
• Prepare and review design documents, drawings, datasheets, reports, and engineering philosophies.
• Vet subcontractor and vendor designs for compliance with standards, codes, and client requirements.
• Assist in resolving field engineering issues from concept through commissioning.
• Monitor design contractor performance and implement corrective actions as needed.
• Participate in HAZOP studies and other critical design reviews.
• Review shop fabrication drawings for contract and code compliance.
• Maintain updated drawing registers and support document control.
• Ensure HSE considerations are integrated and residual risk is ALARP.

Required profile

• University degree (B.Eng. or B.Sc.) in Electrical or Instrumentation Engineering.
• Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in the oil & gas sector.
• Proven experience in FEED and detailed design of electrical and instrumentation systems.
• Strong knowledge of industry codes, standards, and client DEPs.
