Lead Applications Engineer – Drilling and Completion Fluids

About the role

Baker Hughes is seeking a Lead Applications Engineer to drive the delivery of drilling and completion fluids solutions for clients in Nigeria. You will own the end‑to‑end execution of projects, from pre‑planning through post‑job analysis, ensuring safety, compliance and value creation.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with Baker Hughes internal Job Cycle processes.
• Collaborate with Service Delivery Coordinators and sales teams to capture client objectives and commercial terms.
• Perform offset job analysis and engineering modelling to assess application hazards and incident potential.
• Design job programs, including risk mitigation and contingency plans, that meet client goals and maximize revenue.
• Document calculations, simulations and plan revisions for audit and visibility.
• Provide on‑demand technical support during job execution and compare planned versus executed outcomes.
• Participate in field incident investigations and contribute lessons learned to continuous‑improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Senior‑level professional with at least 12 years of experience in drilling and completion fluids applications.
• Proven ability to work across disciplines and stakeholder groups.
• Strong analytical mindset with a focus on safety and risk management.
