Laundry Distributor and Collector

About the role

The Laundry Distributor and Collector is responsible for the timely collection, sorting, distribution, and delivery of clean and soiled linens, uniforms, and other hospital laundry items. This role ensures that all hospital departments receive properly cleaned and sanitized linen to maintain hygiene and operational efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Collect used and soiled linens from designated hospital units, sort them by fabric type and contamination level, and handle biohazardous materials according to protocol.
• Distribute clean linens, uniforms, and other laundry items to wards, operating rooms, and other departments, ensuring accurate allocation and monitoring stock levels.
• Follow infection control procedures, wear appropriate PPE, and sanitize equipment to prevent cross‑contamination.
• Maintain records of linen movement, report shortages or damages, and assist in compiling usage data for inventory management.

Required profile

• BSc or HND in Business Administration, Economics, Garment Making or related field.
• 0‑5 years experience in laundry distribution, housekeeping or a related field; hospital or hospitality experience is a plus.
• Basic knowledge of infection control and safety standards in healthcare.
• Strong attention to detail, good communication skills, and physical stamina for frequent walking, lifting and pushing carts.
