Laboratory Manager (m/f/x)

About the role

Julius Berger Nigeria Plc, a leading provider of planning, design, engineering, construction and maintenance services, is seeking a Laboratory Manager to lead its material testing laboratory in Abuja. You will be responsible for ensuring high‑quality testing, compliance and support to project teams.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise laboratory activities and testing operations.
• Advise management and project teams on material engineering matters.
• Ensure compliance with HSE, quality and environmental requirements.
• Manage training and development of laboratory personnel.
• Oversee testing plans, documentation and reporting.
• Support resolution of material‑related non‑conformities.
• Coordinate with clients, consultants and internal project teams.

Required profile

• Technical certificate plus 15 years of work experience.
• Degree in Civil Engineering or related field; Construction Materials Engineer qualification is an advantage.
• At least 10 years of experience leading a construction material laboratory.
• Strong leadership, communication and problem‑solving abilities.
• Ability to manage teams, multiple tasks and deadlines.

Required skills

• Material testing knowledge.
• Understanding of testing standards and quality requirements.
• English language proficiency at B2 level or higher (C1 preferred).
