Key Stage 1 Teacher

About the role

We are looking for an enthusiastic Key Stage 1 Teacher who is passionate about phonics, literacy and early reading development. You will join a vibrant school community and help young learners build confidence and a lifelong love of books.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver engaging English lessons for Key Stage 1 pupils.
• Teach and assess phonics using a systematic approach.
• Support children new to reading, developing fluency and comprehension.
• Create a rich literacy environment that encourages storytelling and creative writing.
• Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all learners.
• Monitor progress and provide targeted intervention.
• Collaborate with colleagues and parents to support each child’s development.

Required profile

• A first degree.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience teaching English in Key Stage 1.
• Strong knowledge and proven experience in phonics instruction.
• Genuine passion for literacy and children’s literature.
• Excellent communication, organisational and classroom‑management skills.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting child welfare.
