Junior Secondary School Subject Teacher

About the role

We are looking for a dynamic Junior Secondary School Subject Teacher to join Aster Bloom Academy in Benin City. The successful candidate will deliver engaging lessons, support student development, and contribute to our values‑driven learning environment.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and deliver lessons aligned with the school curriculum and academic standards.
• Develop instructional materials, assessments and promote critical thinking.
• Monitor and evaluate student performance, provide timely feedback and maintain academic records.
• Create a positive, inclusive and disciplined classroom atmosphere.
• Integrate technology and innovative teaching strategies into instruction.
• Communicate regularly with parents and guardians about student progress.
• Participate in departmental meetings, professional development, school events and extracurricular activities.
• Adhere to safeguarding, health, safety and child protection policies.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Education or a relevant subject.
• Minimum three years teaching experience at junior secondary level.
• Experience with the British Curriculum (preferred).
• Strong classroom management and instructional abilities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• TRCN certification or registration (advantageous).
• Passion for mentoring young learners and values‑based education.

Required skills

• Good ICT proficiency.
