Junior Associate

About the role

The Junior Associate will support senior attorneys with legal research, drafting, and analysis in a full‑time, on‑site position based in Lagos. This role offers exposure to a wide range of commercial, corporate, and regulatory matters across the firm’s practice areas.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare legal opinions, draft contracts and court documents, and review transaction documents.
• Assist with due diligence exercises and participate in client meetings.
• Support case preparation, strategy development, and manage files and documentation.
• Monitor legal and regulatory developments and contribute to internal knowledge resources.

Required profile

• Solid foundation in legal research, drafting, and analysis with strong attention to detail.
• Knowledge of procedural, commercial, and corporate law, including banking, corporate finance, and capital markets.
• Familiarity with company law, corporate governance, compliance, and tax advisory principles.
• Awareness of sector‑specific regulations such as data protection, employment, environmental law, and intellectual property.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to present complex information clearly.
• Strong organizational and time‑management abilities, capable of handling multiple matters and meeting deadlines.
• Collaborative mindset and ability to work effectively within diverse teams and with clients.
• LL.B (Hons) and B.L (Hons) with completion of NYSC programme; prior internship or junior‑level experience in a law firm is an advantage.
