About the role
The Interventional Radiologist will join the Diagnostic Services Department of the African Medical Centre of Excellence in Abuja, delivering minimally invasive, image‑guided procedures to diagnose and treat a wide range of conditions.
Key responsibilities
- Perform image‑guided procedures such as angiography, angioplasty, stent placement, embolization, biopsies and drainage.
- Assess patients pre‑procedure, review histories, conduct examinations and interpret imaging studies.
- Develop individualized procedural plans in collaboration with referring physicians.
- Educate patients on conditions, risks, benefits and obtain informed consent.
- Monitor post‑procedure recovery, manage complications and provide follow‑up care.
- Participate in quality‑improvement initiatives, clinical audits and research projects.
- Mentor junior radiologists and contribute to staff development.
Required profile
- Deep understanding of anatomy, pathology and advanced imaging technologies.
- Ability to stay current with the latest interventional radiology advancements.
- Strong leadership and mentorship capabilities.
- Effective communication skills for patient education and multidisciplinary collaboration.
