International Child Protection Reintegration Consultant (9 months)

About the role

The International Consultant will support the transition to government‑led Child Protection Area of Responsibility coordination in north‑east Nigeria. The role focuses on strengthening the Ministry of Social Welfare’s capacity and providing technical leadership for the social and economic reintegration of children and women exiting armed groups.

Key responsibilities

• Strengthen the Ministry of Social Welfare’s ability to lead Child Protection coordination mechanisms and technical working groups.
• Support prevention of child recruitment and use by armed groups and address other grave violations against children and women.
• Provide technical leadership for survivor‑centred, gender‑responsive, and inclusive reintegration programming.
• Ensure reintegration approaches are equitable, timely, and aligned with the Core Commitments for Children in Humanitarian Action.
• Reinforce community‑based protection mechanisms to sustain long‑term outcomes.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Child Protection, Social Work, International Development, Human Rights or a related field.
• 7–10 years of professional experience in child protection programming and coordination.
• Demonstrated experience in the reintegration of children affected by armed conflict.
• Proven experience supporting inter‑agency mechanisms such as CP AoR or technical working groups.
