Internal Control / Risk Management Officer

About the role

The Internal Control / Risk Management Officer will oversee the effectiveness of internal control systems and support risk management initiatives across our banking and finance operations in Lagos. You will work closely with business units to ensure compliance, mitigate risks, and provide actionable insights to senior management.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and evaluate internal control processes, conduct periodic reviews, and recommend corrective actions.
• Maintain and update risk registers, track key risk indicators, and support enterprise risk management projects.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, internal policies, and industry standards through regular monitoring and reporting.
• Assist internal and external auditors, investigate control breaches, and follow up on audit recommendations.
• Prepare and present internal control, risk, and compliance reports to management.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or HND in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Risk Management or related field.
• Minimum 4 years of experience in internal control, risk management, compliance, audit or similar functions, preferably within financial services.
• Professional certifications such as ICAN, ACCA, ANAN, CRMA, CIA, CISA are an advantage.
