Internal Control Officer – Finance & Compliance

About the role

The Internal Control Officer will join TONAD PUBLISHERS LIMITED on a full‑time, on‑site basis in Owode. The role focuses on designing, implementing and monitoring internal control procedures to protect company assets and ensure regulatory compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and monitor internal control frameworks.
• Review financial and operational processes and conduct regular control assessments.
• Identify control weaknesses and recommend corrective actions.
• Collaborate with finance, operations and management to document workflows and standardise procedures.
• Support internal and external audits by preparing required documentation and reports.
• Prepare reports on control effectiveness and train staff on compliance requirements.
• Continuously improve control processes in line with best practices.

Required profile

• Strong analytical ability to interpret data, spot trends and evaluate risks.
• Professional knowledge of finance and basic accounting principles.
• Effective communication skills for reporting findings and stakeholder engagement.
• Hands‑on experience with internal controls and auditing standards.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., CIA, ACA, ACCA) are an advantage.
• High integrity, attention to detail and commitment to confidentiality.
• Ability to work independently, prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.
