Integrated Landscape Management / Geoportal Advisor

About the role

The Integrated Landscape Management / Geoportal Advisor will lead the inclusive landscape approach for the Soil Values programme across four Sahel countries. Based in Abuja, the advisor will coordinate landscape assessments, guide partners, and drive the integration of community‑driven watershed management into the project’s strategic agenda.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the implementation of the Integrated Landscape Management (ILM) component for the Soil Values project.
• Coordinate landscape assessments and synthesize guidance from SNV, IWMI, IFDC and other knowledge partners.
• Engage national and local stakeholders to align actions with the project’s inclusive, agro‑ecological objectives.
• Develop and maintain the geo‑portal platform that visualises landscape data and supports decision‑making.
• Facilitate participatory processes that combine local knowledge with nature‑based solutions for soil fertility and water conservation.

Required profile

• Proven experience in integrated landscape management or related environmental programmes.
• Strong understanding of Sahelian agricultural contexts and smallholder farmer dynamics.
• Demonstrated ability to work with multi‑disciplinary partners and coordinate cross‑country activities.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑engagement skills.
