Inland Coordinator

About the role

To coordinate and monitor inland transportation activities from booking through final delivery, ensuring accurate processing of bookings, shipment and location updates, work orders, vendor assignments, container movements and invoices in the relevant systems. The position acts as a key link between customers, vendors, operations, Customer Service, area teams, terminals and Finance, supporting timely resolution of shipment discrepancies, additional‑cost matters and operational exceptions while maintaining compliance with Hapag‑Lloyd processes.

Key responsibilities

• Process online and manual bookings and update them in the FIS2 system.
• Manage location codes, amend customer loading locations and handle MH↔CH booking changes.
• Identify and resolve shipment, EPOS, location‑code and tariff errors, coordinating with CSB, OPSS and vendors.
• Allocate work orders to the correct vendor, follow up on container movements and ensure proper invoice issuance.
• Generate TREX numbers for extra shipment costs and educate vendors on Hapag‑Lloyd invoicing guidelines.
• Monitor vendor performance, provide forecasts for upcoming bookings and coordinate with procurement.
• Engage with port terminals to release containers, arrange replacements for damaged units and communicate with truck drivers in the local language.
• Support finance by reconciling long‑outstanding accounts payable and handling VIM cases.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and Hapag‑Lloyd operational platforms such as FIS2.
• Knowledge of inland transportation, trucking operations and container delivery processes.
• Understanding of booking procedures, shipment updates, work orders and vendor coordination.
• Ability to identify and resolve booking, shipment, location‑code, EPOS and invoice discrepancies.
• Strong analytical, organizational and problem‑solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
• Familiarity with local transport regulations and customs requirements is an advantage.
