Information Technology (IT) Officer

About the role

A client, a reputable financial institution, is looking for an Information Technology (IT) Officer in Lagos to support its technology infrastructure, systems, users and digital banking operations. The role reports to the Head of Information Technology and covers first-level technical support, hardware and software maintenance, network support, user access administration and operational support for the BankOne Core Banking Application. It suits a hands-on IT professional with strong troubleshooting skills and practical experience in a banking or financial services environment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide first-level technical support to staff at the Head Office and branches, troubleshoot hardware, software, network and system issues, document incidents and escalate complex ones.
• Support users of the BankOne Core Banking Application, including access, onboarding, deactivation, performance monitoring and system updates.
• Install, configure and maintain computers, printers and network devices; monitor LAN, WAN and internet connectivity; keep IT asset records.
• Create, modify and deactivate user accounts, manage access rights and passwords, and report suspicious access activity.
• Support information security controls, endpoint protection, cybersecurity awareness and compliance with security policies.
• Perform and monitor data backups, verify backup integrity, support recovery and disaster recovery procedures.
• Support digital banking channels, platform integration and escalation of critical digital banking incidents.
• Support internal and external IT audits, regulatory examinations and vendor liaison.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or HND in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering or a related field.
• 2-4 years of relevant IT experience; microfinance bank, commercial bank, fintech or other financial institution experience is highly desirable.
• Mandatory practical experience with the BankOne Core Banking Application.
• Professional IT certifications are an added advantage (e.g., CCNA, CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+, Microsoft certifications).
