Import‑Export (IMPEX) Manager

About the role

The IMPEX Manager will lead the end‑to‑end import and export operations, ensuring shipments move smoothly from our domestic warehouse to destination ports. This role combines strategic planning with hands‑on coordination to optimise logistics performance while maintaining compliance with customs regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate domestic‑to‑port shipments, guaranteeing timely processing and delivery.
• Develop and implement logistics best‑practice policies, import‑export schemes and operational procedures.
• Plan, manage and evaluate logistics activities in partnership with internal stakeholders, suppliers, carriers, customs authorities and customers.
• Negotiate rates and contracts with transportation and logistics providers, recommending optimal modes, routes and frequencies.
• Monitor quality, quantity, delivery times and transport costs, ensuring carrier performance aligns with company policies.
• Resolve issues related to transportation, logistics systems, imports/exports or customer concerns.
• Maintain comprehensive records of all export‑import shipments and associated documentation.
• Support continuous‑improvement initiatives, identifying inefficiencies and cost‑optimisation opportunities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in business, logistics or a related field.
• 5‑7 years of experience in import/export operations or a similar logistics role.
• Strong knowledge of customs regulations and compliance requirements.
• Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with customers, suppliers and internal teams.
• Excellent written communication, critical‑thinking and problem‑solving skills.
• Effective time‑management and team‑organisation capabilities.
