ICU Nurse

About the role

The ICU Nurse will deliver high‑acuity nursing care to critically ill patients in a tertiary‑level hospital. Working on‑site full‑time in Lagos, you will join a multidisciplinary team focused on evidence‑based practice, patient safety and continuous learning.

Key responsibilities

• Continuously assess patient conditions and promptly intervene when needed.
• Administer medications, treatments and manage life‑support equipment such as ventilators.
• Document all care activities accurately in electronic medical records.
• Collaborate with physicians and allied health professionals to develop individualized care plans.
• Respond to emergencies, participate in multidisciplinary rounds and quality‑improvement initiatives.
• Maintain infection‑control standards and ensure safe equipment usage.
• Educate patients and families about care plans and provide emotional support.

Required profile

• Current RN license in good standing.
• Strong foundation in general nursing, patient assessment and medication administration.
• Demonstrated experience in critical care or high‑acuity settings; experience in an international‑standard or tertiary facility is a plus.
• Willingness to obtain or hold ICU/critical‑care certification.
• Excellent communication, teamwork and problem‑solving abilities, with composure under pressure.

Required skills

• Proficiency with ICU monitoring equipment.
• Ventilator operation and troubleshooting.
• Use of electronic medical record systems.
