ICU Nurse – Critical Care Specialist

About the role

We are looking for a highly skilled, compassionate ICU Nurse to join our critical care team in Nigeria. The successful candidate will deliver specialized nursing care to critically ill patients, monitor their conditions continuously, and support life‑saving interventions within the Intensive Care Unit.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and assess critically ill patients around the clock.
• Administer medications, intravenous fluids and prescribed treatments.
• Operate and monitor ICU equipment such as ventilators, cardiac monitors, infusion pumps and oxygen therapy devices.
• Record vital signs, document patient status and promptly report changes to physicians.
• Assist doctors during emergency procedures and critical interventions.
• Provide emergency nursing care and respond to life‑threatening situations.
• Maintain accurate nursing documentation and patient records.
• Follow infection prevention and control protocols rigorously.
• Educate and support patients’ relatives about conditions and care plans.
• Collaborate with doctors and multidisciplinary teams to ensure high‑quality patient care.

Required profile

• ICU / Critical Care Certification (compulsory).
• Registered Nurse (RN) qualification (compulsory).
• Valid Nursing and Midwifery Council practicing licence (compulsory).
• Registered Midwife (RM) qualification – advantage.
• 4‑10 years of ICU or critical‑care nursing experience (preferred).
• Experience with ventilator management and emergency response – advantage.
• Willingness to work shifts, nights, weekends and public holidays.
• Strong commitment to patient safety, professionalism and confidentiality.
