ICU Nurse – Critical Care Position

About the role

We are looking for a highly skilled and compassionate ICU Nurse to join our critical care team at St. Dominic Catholic Hospital in Ibadan. The successful candidate will provide specialized nursing care to critically ill patients, monitor their conditions continuously, and support life‑saving interventions within the Intensive Care Unit.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and assess critically ill patients around the clock.
• Administer medications, intravenous fluids and prescribed treatments.
• Operate and monitor ICU equipment such as ventilators, cardiac monitors, infusion pumps and oxygen therapy devices.
• Record vital signs, document care accurately and report changes promptly to physicians.
• Assist doctors during emergency procedures and critical interventions.
• Provide emergency nursing care and respond swiftly to life‑threatening situations.
• Educate patients’ relatives about conditions and care plans.
• Collaborate with doctors and other healthcare professionals to ensure high‑quality patient care.

Required profile

• ICU/Critical Care Certification (mandatory).
• Registered Nurse qualification (mandatory); Registered Midwife qualification is a plus.
• Valid practicing license from the Nursing and Midwifery Council.
• 4‑10 years of experience in ICU or critical care nursing preferred.
• Willingness to work shifts, including nights.
