ICT Instructor for the Blind

About the role

Accesstech Innovation and Research Centre seeks a dedicated ICT Instructor to empower blind and visually impaired learners with essential digital skills for education, employment, and independent living.

Key responsibilities

• Teach Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) using screen‑reader software.
• Train learners on Android devices with TalkBack and on iPhone/Mac devices with VoiceOver.
• Utilise Braille to deliver and support instruction where appropriate.
• Prepare accessible lesson plans, learning materials and practical exercises.
• Assess learner progress, provide regular feedback and maintain accurate training records.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree (minimum 2:2) from a recognised institution.
• Completion of National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) with certificate or exemption.
• Current residence in Lagos.
• Independent mobility skills to travel to and within the training venue.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite using a screen reader.
• Experience with Android TalkBack and iPhone/Mac VoiceOver.
• Braille literacy.
• Knowledge of assistive technologies such as JAWS and NVDA (desirable).
