Humanitarian Coordinator – Nigeria

About the role

The Humanitarian Coordinator will lead the in‑country implementation of the ANTICIPA initiative, an AI‑driven platform designed to improve humanitarian response in Nigeria. Reporting to the project’s technical team, the coordinator will bridge the gap between field actors and developers, ensuring the solution meets real‑world needs.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the primary representative for the ANTICIPA project in Nigeria, building and maintaining relationships with UN agencies, NGOs, government authorities and community leaders.
• Lead the strategic adoption, contextualisation and implementation of the ANTICIPA AI‑driven platform within the national humanitarian architecture.
• Translate field‑level needs and community intelligence into clear technical requirements for the AI and software development team.
• Guide the creation of information products, risk analyses and decision‑support tools that meet the operational needs of first responders and affected populations.
• Coordinate with the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), State Emergency Management Agencies (SEMA), the Nigerian Meteorological Agency and other disaster‑risk institutions.

Required profile

• Extensive experience working in the Nigerian humanitarian sector.
• Strong network across UN agencies, international and national NGOs, and government bodies.
• Proven ability to engage directly with vulnerable communities and understand their information needs.
• Demonstrated experience in leading multi‑stakeholder coordination and advocacy.

Required skills

What we offer

• National employee contract until 31 December 2026.
• Monthly salary between 2,600,000 NGN and 3,200,000 NGN, based on experience.
• Base location in Abuja with regular travel to field locations.
