History Teacher

About the role

St Matthew Academy is seeking a passionate History Teacher to join its full‑time teaching team from September 2026. You will be responsible for delivering high‑quality history lessons across the secondary phase, fostering a love of learning and preparing pupils for their next educational steps.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, deliver and assess engaging history lessons in line with the academy curriculum.
• Develop and maintain a rich body of knowledge that supports pupils’ academic progress.
• Contribute to the school’s enrichment programme and extracurricular activities.
• Maintain high standards of pupil behaviour and classroom management.
• Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and support continuous improvement.
