Health Care Aide

About the role

We are seeking a compassionate Health Care Aide to provide direct client care and environmental support in accordance with established standards, policies and procedures. Working under the guidance of a team leader, you will help clients maintain dignity, independence and optimal health.

Key responsibilities

• Assist clients with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, bathing, grooming, dressing and oral care.
• Support clients with elimination needs, such as bathroom assistance, bedpan use, incontinence care and ostomy care.
• Provide mobility assistance, feeding support and encourage nutritional intake as outlined in care plans.
• Document observations, care provided and fluid balance records accurately in client health records.
• Follow individualized care plans, report changes to the team leader and contribute feedback for continuous improvement.
• Respect client privacy, cultural diversity and uphold the resident Bill of Rights.

Required profile

• Health Care Aide Certificate from a recognized program (or equivalent education/experience).
• Strong organizational ability and capacity to work independently.
• Effective communication skills and flexibility to adapt to changing techniques and procedures.
• Sound judgment, respect for confidentiality and cultural diversity.

Required skills

• Clinical documentation and record‑keeping.
• Basic knowledge of personal care techniques and hygiene procedures.
