Head of Stores – Warehouse & Logistics Lead

About the role

The Head of Stores will oversee all store and logistics functions for Dangote Cement Transport in Gboko and Okpella. This senior position is responsible for optimizing warehouse operations, inventory control, procurement coordination, and overall logistical efficiency to support the company’s operational goals.

Key responsibilities

• Manage daily store and logistics activities, including receiving, storage, inventory control, and dispatch.
• Develop and implement logistics strategies to improve warehousing, transportation, and distribution.
• Lead store and warehouse teams, ensuring high performance, safety, and quality compliance.
• Monitor and report on KPIs to drive continuous improvement across the supply chain.
• Maintain accurate inventory records and conduct regular stock audits.
• Collaborate with procurement, production, and sales to align supply‑chain activities with business needs.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and regulatory standards.
• Identify cost‑saving opportunities and lead improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• 10+ years of experience in senior logistics or stores management.
• Relevant degree or professional qualification in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, CIPS, CILT, CSCP, CPIM or related field.
• Proven leadership, organizational, and communication abilities.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

Required skills

• Hands‑on experience with ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle.
• Strong knowledge of inventory management systems and warehousing processes.
• Expertise in supply‑chain management and KPI monitoring.
