Head of Security Operations

About the role

The Head of Security Operations will lead the information security function for a fast‑growing fintech group in Nigeria. The role is responsible for delivering risk reports, ensuring compliance with local and international standards, and safeguarding the company’s digital and physical assets.

Key responsibilities

• Produce regular information security risk reports and certifications.
• Ensure business compliance with relevant local and international security standards.
• Communicate risk metrics to senior management and advise on mitigation.
• Conduct project risk appraisals and support stakeholder decision‑making.
• Develop and mentor security officers for future managerial responsibilities.
• Review and approve operational requests to protect business assets.
• Oversee incident response and security operations across complex IT and financial environments.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years of experience in systems control, physical security access, disaster recovery, risk management or a similar security operations role.
• Proven ability to manage information security operations or incident response in large organisations.
• Strong communication and stakeholder‑management capabilities.
• Working knowledge of IT support tools, operating systems, networking concepts and monitoring applications.
• Experience with telecom, messaging, USSD or digital service platforms is an advantage.
