About the role
This strategic leadership position is designed for a passionate nursing professional who wants to transform nursing practice, build high‑performing teams, and ensure every patient receives safe, evidence‑based, person‑centred care. You will provide overall direction for nursing services across the hospital and champion a culture of quality and continuous improvement.
Key responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership and oversight for all nursing services.
- Develop and implement nursing policies, standards, and clinical protocols aligned with best practices.
- Drive a culture of quality, patient safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory, professional, and accreditation standards.
- Lead workforce planning, recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and succession planning.
- Coach, mentor, and develop nurse leaders while fostering continuous learning.
- Conduct regular nursing rounds, audits, and performance reviews.
- Monitor and improve nursing‑sensitive quality indicators such as patient satisfaction, medication safety, infection prevention, falls, pressure injuries, and documentation quality.
- Collaborate with physicians and clinical leaders to improve outcomes and operational efficiency.
- Lead investigations into nursing incidents and implement corrective actions.
- Promote evidence‑based practice and innovation in patient care.
- Maintain safe staffing levels and efficient deployment of nursing resources.
Required profile
- Registered Nurse (RN/RM) with a current practising licence.
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (B.NSc); a Master’s degree in Nursing, Healthcare Management, Public Health, or a related field is strongly preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a senior nursing leadership role (e.g., Nursing Manager, Assistant Head of Nursing, Head of Nursing).
- Strong knowledge of nursing administration, clinical governance, patient safety, quality improvement, and healthcare regulations.
- Proven success in leading organisational change and improving clinical outcomes.
- Excellent leadership, coaching, conflict‑resolution, and people‑management abilities.
- Strong analytical, organisational, and decision‑making skills.
- Effective communication and stakeholder‑management capabilities.
