Head of Internal Audit

About the role

The Head of Internal Audit provides independent assurance over governance, risk management and internal controls for Dangote Fertilizer Ltd. Reporting to senior leadership, this role drives audit quality, safeguards assets and promotes process efficiency through data‑driven insights.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement and lead the Internal Audit framework aligned with governance, risk and compliance objectives.
• Coordinate business‑unit internal auditors and external auditors to ensure effective assurance delivery and continuous improvement.
• Provide independent oversight of key financial and operational processes, proactively mitigating risks.
• Evaluate business processes, systems and controls, identifying weaknesses and recommending practical improvements.
• Advise executive management and the Board Audit & Risk Committee on emerging risks, control issues and audit coverage adequacy.
• Deliver actionable insights and advisory support that enhance business resilience, transparency and long‑term value.

Required profile

• 15+ years of experience in finance, accounting and auditing within a multi‑business organization.
• 5+ years in a management role leading a department.
• Proven experience managing large‑scale initiatives for multi‑million‑dollar businesses.
• Professional certification (CPA, CIA or CISA) and a Bachelor’s degree in accounting (Master’s preferred).
• Deep knowledge of finance and accounting policies, principles and controls.
