Head of Internal Audit

About the role

The Head of Internal Audit provides independent assurance over governance, risk management and internal controls for Dangote Fertilizer Ltd. This senior position drives improvements to policies, safeguards assets and enhances compliance through risk‑based audits and data‑driven insights.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement and lead the Internal Audit framework aligned with governance, risk and compliance objectives.
• Coordinate business‑unit internal auditors and external auditors to ensure effective assurance delivery and continuous audit quality improvement.
• Provide independent oversight of key financial and operational processes, proactively mitigating risks.
• Evaluate business processes, systems and controls, identifying weaknesses and recommending practical improvements.
• Advise executive management and the Board Audit & Risk Committee on emerging risks, control issues and audit coverage adequacy.
• Deliver actionable insights and advisory support to improve business resilience, transparency and long‑term value.

Required profile

• 15+ years of experience in finance and accounting business processes, including auditing in a multi‑business organization.
• 5+ years in a management role leading a department.
• Professional certification such as CPA, CIA or CISA.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
