Head of Drug Prescription Management Services

About the role

We are looking for a highly skilled Head of Drug Prescription Management Services to lead prescription governance across our healthcare facilities in Lagos. The role focuses on rational drug use, patient safety, cost efficiency, and regulatory compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and enforce standardized prescription policies and clinical guidelines.
• Monitor prescription patterns, identify risks, and drive optimization initiatives.
• Lead medication safety audits, reduce errors, and improve prescribing accuracy.
• Optimize drug utilization, support formulary management, and control pharmaceutical spend.
• Ensure compliance with PCN, MDCN, NAFDAC and accreditation standards.
• Leverage EMR data to produce reports on prescribing trends and outcomes.
• Collaborate with clinicians, pharmacists, HMOs, and management teams; deliver CME sessions on rational prescribing.

Required profile

• MBBS or Pharmacy degree (B.Pharm/PharmD) – mandatory.
• 8‑12 years of experience in clinical practice, pharmacy management, or medication governance.
• Post‑graduate qualification in Clinical Pharmacology, Public Health, or Health Management is an advantage.
• Proven leadership, analytical, and stakeholder‑engagement abilities.
