Hatchery Assistant

About the role

The Hatchery Assistant will support daily operations at Platinum-Heritage Farms’ hatchery in Ibadan, ensuring optimal conditions for egg incubation and the care of newly hatched animals. This entry‑level position offers hands‑on experience in aquaculture and farm animal husbandry.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor eggs and incubation conditions such as temperature, humidity and water quality.
• Feed and care for newly hatched animals.
• Clean and maintain tanks and related equipment.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; coursework in biology, agriculture or aquaculture is a plus.
• Entry‑level experience or familiarity with farming, fishery or animal care.
• Physical ability to stand for long periods, lift moderate weights and work in wet or humid environments.
• Strong attention to detail for monitoring conditions and spotting health issues.
• Basic record‑keeping and documentation skills.
• Team player able to follow instructions and report issues clearly.
• Flexibility to work early mornings, weekends or shifts as needed.
